Breckenridge Golf & Tennis Club commercial landscape upgrade
After interviewing a few different landscapers, the Master Association for the Breckenridge Golf & Tennis Club decided to hire Seabreeze Landscape for their commercial landscape upgrade at their entrances and some common areas around their golf courses. We integrated colorful, low-maintenance plants that tie in wonderfully with their existing plantings. Some of the plants used were Dioon cycads (Dioon edule), Silver Buttonwood (Conocarpus erectus), Aechmea Alvarez, Aechmea blanchetiana, Bismark Palms (Bismarkia nobilis), and a native Buccaneer Palm (Pseudophoenix sargentii). Decorative flag stone was used in many of their beds to bring a fresh, modern look to one of Lee County’s oldest and most prestigious communities.
Pseudophoenix sargentii (Florida cherry palm, buccaneer palm, Sargent’s cherry palm, cherry palm, palma de guinea, cacheo, kuká) is a medium-sized palm native to the northern Caribbean, eastern Mexico, and extreme southeast Atlantic Florida. Pseudophoenix sargentii is usually near the sea on sandy or limestone soils. The palm grows in a ringed truck fashion to 8 metres tall and up to 30 centimetres in diameter, often slightly swollen. Yellowish flowers are spaced in lose clusters. Pseudophoenix sargentii is a handsome palm and cultivated in the specialty horticulture trade and available as an ornamental palm for private gardens, habitat gardens, and various types of municipal, commercial, and agency sustainable landscape and restoration projects. -Wikipedia
